Basic Vacuum Sealer Troubleshooting
Machine will not turn on
- 1. Make sure unit is plugged into a 110V outlet.
- 2. Make certain the outlet is "live" - no tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses.
Jaws do not close
- 1. Foot switch malfunction - check and replaced if necessary.
- 2. Air pressure too low or turned off - check and repair as needed.
- 3. Clogged air filter - cheack and replace if needed.
No vacuum
- 1. Clogged nozzle - check and clean if necessary.
- 2. Clogged exhaust muffler - check and replace if needed.
- 3. Vacuum timer set too low.
- 4. Insufficient air supply. Most units require about 7.5 scfm @ 80 psi for proper operation.
No seal
- 1. Seal timer set too low.
- 2. Heating element broken - check and replace if needed.
- 3. Terminal screw is loose - tighten.
Poor sealing
- 1. Seal timer set too high or too low - adjust by 1/4 second increments in the proper direction.
- 2. Dwell timer is set too low - dwell setting must be at least twice as long as the seal time.
- 3. Air pressure too low - make sure the required amount of volume and pressure are present.
